Material Exchange Parsons School of Design - New York

Particularités : The Material Exchange has officially been active for one year! Students stay updated on hours, new materials, and announcements through our Instagram. Each semester, we host a major studio clean-out, where students contribute materials from various sources. The Exchange operates from a dedicated room, with materials organized in containers and on shelves. The space is primarily managed by three students, with additional support from 6-7 volunteers who earn Pars for their hours. The system runs on a weight-based model, and student accounts are tracked via an Excel sheet.

Materials : Wood Planks, blocks and dowels, Metal sheets and rods, Fabrics of different sizes and materials, clay, paper, hardware, cardboard, chipboard, tools like pliers, rulers, scissors, Olfa knives, glass, paints, brushes, foam, lighting equipment, wire.
Opening : Monday- Friday: 10am-12pm and 4pm-6pm
